Life lately has been one hell of a ride, pretty much because of the sudden downpour of work load and the pressure of keeping myself afloat from all the mess. Anyhow, I’ve been meaning to update my blog for the longest time but kept on delaying it because of whatever’s going around, but here’s a quick life lately that features my week!

Awesome, awesome Sunday because I was able to attend Carly Rae Jepsen’s press conference at EDSA Shangrila. I have already given up my chances of seeing her because (1) I wasn’t able to get the assignment for her concert, and (2) I’m trying to manage my budget because of Mark and I’s upcoming trip. Luckily, Angeline asked who among the WIM writers would like to go to Sunday’s press con, and of course, I excitedly volunteered. I am so glad that the assignment was given to me, plus people from WIM were also super nice to give me two VIP tickets for the concert. WOOHOO! I was able to ask Carly Rae a question myself, and I was so happy that I manage to deliver it properly (lol). Here’s my short post about the press con, as published on WheninManila.
During Carly Rae’s press conference, I was also able to meet Helga and Ate Moki. They were both super nice and warm, although I only get to interact with them for a couple of minutes. I was too shy to hangout with their circle, but I hope I could get to talk to them more in person (aside from my usual tweets he he).

Another highlight of that Sunday was picking up Mark’s new baby — a Canon 600D! I’m so excited for him as he’s really someone who enjoys learning and taking photographs. It has always been his goal to have his own dSLR, and I’m so happy that he was finally able to tick that from his bucket list. Spent the whole day with Mark, and it just made me realize how much I missed having him around. Still not used to our different work shifts (he works at night), but we’re getting by.

Since I got free tickets for the concert, I dragged my friends Karen, Jaco, and Cza, and forced them to watch with me. Too bad Karen and Jaco’s tickets were located on the other side, so we only got to spazz about our feels, Carly Rae’s immaculate underarms, and her awesome set list, right after the concert.
I was also able to meet fellow UPLB grad and blogger, Clarisse. It was a grand night and I really enjoyed singing my heart out and dancing to each of Carly’s songs. I was standing the whole time, shaking my booty, and singing along. It was such a shame that some people chose to take out their phones and capture the concert instead of actually enjoying the moment. There was even a ~celebrity~ couple in front of Cza and I who did nothing but take selfies, videos, swigs from their flask, and unabashedly had a nice PDA session during the event. Ugh, people.
I felt a bit sad that I forgot to borrow Mark’s camera lens, but at the end of it all, I realized that it was okay, as I was able to dance without worrying about taking a nice photograph (although I really REALLY like taking concert photos. If you have a band, I volunteer to take photographs of your gigs — this is for real lol).
TUESDAY – FRIDAY

The following days were the craziest. I know I’ve mentioned that I have a major event coming up for work. It’s slated on the 26th, and guess what? We had to do an overhaul of the whole thing as advised by the management 10 days before the event. New venue, new line up for the program, new CE (cost estimate / budget, if you’re unfamiliar with the term), new sets of meetings, new everything — it definitely made all of us flip out, but who are we to oppose, really? I can’t do anything but take on the challenge, but it’s really something that kind of stressed me out A LOT. I’ve been missing out on my running sessions, as work has been pretty demanding (going in early, going home late). I’m proud of our team and the rest of the people working very hard for this event, and I hope for nothing but a successful run on Saturday. I’m the major coordinator for this event, and together with my boss, this is definitely one hell of a hurdle for us. So help us God.
SATURDAY – SUNDAY
The weekend was pretty hectic but nice, starting it off with a quiet lunch with the family. I brought them to Don Day in Quezon Avenue, and treated them with Korean food. It has been my pledge to bring them out whenever I can, and it’s been a while since the last, so it felt nice to actually celebrate our days off with delicious food.
Afterwards, I went straight to SM North EDSA for Sexy Detox’s grand launch, where I get to drink a lot of detox water, and spend sometime with a new found friend. More on that on another post, I suppose.
The rest of the weekend, I get to spend with Mark. We went to BGC, danced on Timezone, sang at the karaoke, talked a lot, took bajillons of photos, ate a lot (as usual), and dropped by at HyvE for their reopening. It was fun, exploring new places and experiencing new things (like going to a high end kind of bar — we’d rather have drinks at home, really). We had the chance to try La Lola for dinner and it was delicious! We also discovered a new place in Kapitolyo called Nori. Nori is a pretty awesome restaurant, but we weren’t able to take photos as we left our phones and cameras at Mark’s place. I vowed to go back and feature them the next time around. They serve delicious sushi burritos, and it was a perfect midnight snack for the adventurous people that is us.
Whew, that was a mouthful. I’m still in denial that tomorrow’s already Monday, but looking back at the past days makes me realize that there is hope to surviving all these craziness.
Good luck to all of us and have a great week ahead! Woohoo!
